Under the generals' supervision, the self-aware ship is capable of modifying its structure to face the adversities of the universe.

The organic quantum nuclear fission engine serves as the ship's beating heart, while the artificial intelligence I.O. - the brain - manages to process infinite possibilities for survival.

Igniting the engines for departure would have caused the annihilation of Earth's electromagnetic field, destroying all remaining life forms.
